Past the allowance

It keeps answering. It does not surprise you.

Once a paid plan has used its questions for the month, Hooty does not go quiet mid-conversation. It keeps answering and takes 2¢ a question from your prepaid balance — and stops the moment that balance runs out. You put the money there; nothing is charged to a card you forgot about.

On Free there is no balance to spend, so it simply stops until the month turns over. Nothing is billed to anyone who did not put money on the account first.

$333

$333 a month of answering, against $39 for Pro.

Arithmetic only: questions × share × minutes × hourly rate. The share is your estimate — we do not publish a deflection rate, because it depends entirely on what your pages already cover. Time saved is not the whole picture either: the visitor who got an answer at 11pm instead of waiting for a reply is the part no calculator shows.

Questions

The things people ask before paying

How long is the free plan free for?
For as long as you use it. Free is not a trial and has no end date — there is no card on file, so nothing can begin charging you. Stay inside the limits and it simply carries on. Go past them and answering pauses until the month turns over; your agents, pages and settings stay exactly where they are.
What counts as a question?
One answer to one visitor. If the assistant replies, that is one — whether the visitor liked the answer or not. Crawling your pages is metered separately and is not taken out of this allowance.
What happens if I go over?
On a paid plan it keeps working and bills against your prepaid balance at 2¢ a question. When the balance is empty it stops. On Free it stops at the limit.
Can I change plan mid-month?
Moving up takes effect immediately and starts a fresh period. Moving down waits until the period you already paid for has run out — nothing you paid for is taken away early.
Do you train models on my content?
No. Your pages are read to answer your visitors and nothing else. That is the same answer whichever plan you are on.
What happens to my data if I stop paying?
You drop to Free at the end of the period. Your agents and pages stay; the limits become the Free ones, and conversation history is kept for seven days instead of six months.
Is there a discount for paying yearly?
Two months. A year costs ten months at the monthly rate, on both paid plans.
