Refund and Cancellation Policy
Version of 2026-08-22
This policy explains cancellation and refunds for paid plans and account balance top-ups. It forms part of our Terms of Service.
Payments are taken by Paddle.com Market Ltd as merchant of record. Refunds are therefore issued by Paddle, to the original payment method. You can raise a request with us at legal@hooty.to or directly with Paddle, and we will handle it the same way either route.
1. Cancelling a subscription
You can cancel at any time in the console, under Billing. No email or phone call is needed, and you do not have to give a reason.
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for. You keep the plan and everything on it until then, and you are not charged again. Nothing is taken away in the middle of a period you paid for.
Until the period ends you can undo the cancellation in the console at no cost. After it ends, your workspace moves to the free plan; your data is kept and available for export as described in the Terms.
2. The 14-day right of withdrawal (consumers in the EU and UK)
If you are a consumer resident in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you normally have 14 days from the conclusion of the contract to withdraw from it without giving a reason.
The Service is digital content supplied immediately. At checkout you are asked to consent to immediate performance and to acknowledge that you thereby lose the right of withdrawal once performance has begun. That consent is requested clearly, and it is your choice: if you do not give it, supply begins after the 14 days instead.
Where the right still applies, tell us at legal@hooty.to within 14 days and we will refund what you paid, without undue delay and within 14 days of being informed, using the original payment method.
3. When we refund beyond that
We would rather refund a customer than keep money they feel they did not get value for. We will normally refund in full where:
- you were charged in error, charged twice, or charged after cancelling;
- a fault on our side prevented you from meaningfully using a paid plan for a substantial part of the period, and we could not fix it;
- you subscribed within the last 14 days and have made no substantial use of the plan.
Outside those cases, fees for a period already started are generally not refunded, and there is no partial refund for the unused part of a period after a mid-period cancellation or downgrade. That said, ask: requests are read by a person, and reasonable ones are usually granted.
We may decline a refund where an account has been used in breach of the Terms, or where a pattern of subscribe-and-refund suggests the request is not made in good faith.
4. Account balance and usage charges
Money added to your account balance is used to pay for usage beyond a plan’s included allowance. An unused balance can be refunded on request within 12 months of the top-up, less any usage already drawn against it. Usage already delivered is not refundable.
5. How to ask, and how long it takes
Write to legal@hooty.to from the address on the account, or open a ticket in the console, telling us which charge you mean. We aim to answer within two business days and to decide within five.
Approved refunds are issued by Paddle to the original payment method. How quickly it appears is up to your bank or card issuer — usually 5 to 10 business days.
If you are unhappy with the outcome, say so at legal@hooty.to and it will be reviewed again. Please raise it with us before starting a chargeback; a chargeback usually suspends the account while it is investigated, which helps nobody.
Nothing in this policy limits your statutory rights as a consumer, including your rights where a service is not as described or not supplied with reasonable care and skill.
